When BenQ-Siemens has been created, we must confess that we had some doubts about the operation, but in truth BenQ-Siemens has been able to break with an impressive range of products, some pleasing to the eye that handsets (in our opinion), have a realistic chance of gaining market share. The last BenQ-Siemens EF71 is the device which will be sold under the name of a little heavy BenQ-Siemens EF71 Q-fi.

From the outside,the BenQ-Siemens EF71 is a fabulous looking handset. Clad in stellar aluminium, the BenQ-Siemens EF71 comes with a beautiful minimalist design with some very elegant external media control. This is not quite as exciting inside, but the squared-off design does not correspond perfectly to the external design, so it is clear that BenQ-Siemens have put in a lot of effort here. Enough of attend if - what is actually in the BenQ-Siemens EF71? Well, it’s a decent medium-high combined with a 2 megapixel camera, 176×220 pixel screen, Bluetooth and expandable memory. There is a 256 MB microSD card supplied with the package, and BenQ-Siemens EF71 also comes with a 3D surround sound.

As you can guess, the BenQ-Siemens EF71 comes with a media player that supports MP3, AAC and WMA formats. It can also take video clips up to 30 frames per second, and it can be used as a Webcam when connected to a PC via a USB cable.

BenQ-Siemens BenQ-Siemens EF71 has a Web browser, but BenQ-Siemens made no mention of a mail client. We would be surprised if there were not one, but if it’s really important to you, check before ordering.

The Q-fi sub-brand is new. BenQ-Siemens launched the Q-fi range to describe the music focuses on the currency. BenQ made standalone MP3 players before using the Joybee name, but they have not sold well. (They also have a notebook brand called Joybook.) There are all sorts of reasons why Q-fi is a better name.

BenQ-Siemens EF71 say that should be available from July 2006 in Asia-Pacific and in September 2006 in Europe. The price of BenQ-Siemens EF71 is not yet known.
