   I link my Cable’s audio output to the system, use it as speakers. After 3 weeks of quality sound. The system would shut itself off automatically while been used. No explanation in the user guide. Unplug the power for 5 min will only let it work for less than an hour. No idea why. Going to contact the manufacture.

   Wanted to purchase this, but did a test drive trying to dock my IPhone to it in Costco, and was not even close to being able to dock with my rubber “Speck” case on. So the sale was lost, the dock point looks like a first generation plug, way to shallow, and not deep enough to get past a protective cover. My Sony, & Altec Lancing”s both have deep and tall docking ports and can take an Iphone with a protective cover,, will wait for next generation. .

   I was in search of a hi-fidelity set of speakers for my iPOD since CDs have become a thing of the past. I was looking to get rid of the large stereo speakers for small big sound. This system has fairly big sound. Strong bass but not clear bass. For the money I’m torn. My son spent $65. 00 on a set of computer speakers with a monster subwoofer. The sound is unbelievable compared to what I bought for $295. 00. The only difference is his speakers will not charge the iPOD. If you want BIG BIG clear sound, and don’t care about carging the iPOD’s. . . . opt in for a set of computer speakers with subwoofer.

   The unit is beautiful, easy to set up and use. For a sound dock it’s the best sound going. . . It can’t beat a full stereo system as there is not enough speaker separation for precise imaging. . . but the sound is as good as it gets and blows the Bose units away for 1/2 the price. . . ( Bose always highly overrated and overpriced.
   Placement is important. Make sure it’s no more than about 16′ away from a wall and not out in the middle of the room. . . but that would hold for a traditional stereo system.

   iHome has hit the ball out of the park with this unit. Its no toy and I can not recommend it highly enough. Sounds bad at the Apple store cause it’s sitting out in the open in the middle of screaming kiddies. . . but once you get it home it kills.

   Saw this in a store and tested it with my own iPhone. The sound is terrific and significantly better than the Bose Soundock. My only complaint is that I wish I didn’t have to remove my iPhone case. I bought it as a gift and he loves it. My friend’s mother in law loved it and wanted one for herself. Now, I wouldn’t mind having one for myself!
