Motorola KRZR say that the K3 expected to be available in Q1 2007.

This is now a 3G device with the support HSDPA, capable of download speeds of up to 3.6Mbps. Out goes the K1 of 176×220 pixels, replaced by a 2 “240×320 pixels panel. KRZR K3 has more internal memory (50 MB) and a larger external display. This is a handset the same size as the K1 on only about 10 grams heavier.

Long-time readers of the Mobile Gazette know that we are strong enough RAZR endless variations, including three RAZResque HSDPA phones - V3xx, RAZR MAXX and V1100. In fact, the KRZR K3 is almost identical in all respects to its RAZR MAXX (expect it to be more restricted). Indeed Asia K3 KRZR MAXX will be called upon to reinforce this K3.

In all fairness, the Motorola KRZR K3 seems to be a very good phone. But there’s absolutely nothing to differentiate from the competition. In terms of specification, there are a growing number of emerging devices that support HSDPA. In terms of research. Well, the RAZR / KRZR look has been done to death and it holds very little appeal. But if you are looking for a thin and reasonably well specified HSDPA handset and glances not bore you rigid, then KRZR K3 is certainly worth considering.

We previewed the Motorola KRZR K3 few weeks ago and since then, Motorola has officially announced the handset. It is very similar to KRZR K1, but in fact it is a device significantly improved.

The KRZR K3 still has a 2 megapixel camera primary, now complemented by a 0.3 megapixel camera for video calling. Curiously, Motorola’s press releases say that the KRZR K3 can only read the MP2 audio format obsolete, and not the most advanced MP3. We assume that must be a mistake. The return K3 also plays AAC and AAC + audio and MPEG4 video clips. There’s stereo Bluetooth connectivity and Motorola KRZR K3 takes microSD cards to expand its memory.
