Motorola MOTO say that the Z10 will be available during Q1 2008, but no pricing information was available at press time.
A weakness in the old Z8 was the camera, and it is much improved on the MOTO Z10. It is now a unit with 3.2 megapixel autofocus, a “Superfast” multishot and function of capturing video at 30 fps. However, there is no flash and Motorola did not specify the Z10’s resolution video capture. The videos can be downloaded from YouTube or other services, as well as basic editing can be done in the phone itself. The Z10 also supports video call.
We will say at the outset that we are not keen on the Z10 MOTO its aesthetics, we sensed that something was a problem with the Z8 too. It seems virtually identical from a whole load of other devices Motorola, and yet the Z10 (and seizure Z8) are two very accomplished 3G smartphones.
This is not a killer Nokia N95, but the MOTO Z10 is certainly impressive, highly specified phone. If you have a Z8 already, then it is perhaps not quite worth the upgrade. The rumor said that Motorola will be even better some phones to come in the near future, but if defects of the Z8 put you off, then the Z10 MOTO looks better machinery.
It is a smartphone Symbian UIQ, as was the Z8. Again, the Z8 software and the user interface was very well received, and the MOTO Z10 build on that. The Z10’s media player is also quite comprehensive, supporting MP3, MPEG4, AAC, AMR, WMA, 3GPP, H.263 and H.264 formats. The Z10 also supports Bluetooth stereo for playback, or it can be used with one of a series of new systems Speaker of Motorola.
The Motorola MOTO Z10 is a simple upgrade to the Z8 MOTO, and he managed to overcome many of the shortcomings of the Z8, while retaining most of the good characteristics of the old model.
As with the Z8, it is a “kick slide” phone that curves around to make it more natural to use. Z8 won praise for the slide mechanism, and we expect the MOTO follow the Z10 the same high standards of friendliness and construction.
Memory is expandable to 32 GB, using a huge microSD high density (SD) cards. Overall, the Z10 measures 109 x 50 x 16mm and weighs 115 grams. Over time Motorola MOTO Z10 is an impressive 5 hours 3G, or 5 hours of video playback.
