Outside the bright curved shell of the U9 is a 2-megapixel and a 1.4 inch 128×160 pixel color OLED touch. Inside is a 2.0 inch 240×320 pixels TFT, plus a keyboard with raised ridges greatly improved to make it more user-friendly. Overall, the Motorola U9 measures 90 x 49 x 16 mm and weighs only 88 grams, which is considerably lighter than the RAZR2 is at least partly to do with the small display panels on the U9.

Motorola has just announced the launch of their U9 mobile phone. It is essentially an extension of the PEBL, a bit like V8 is behind RAZR. Here we have an interesting cell phone that comes with the beautiful CrystalTalk noise reduction technology, a 2 megapixel and the possibility to include a microSD memory card. It is interesting to see that we have support for Windows Media Player 11 in combination with MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC +, and we can also observe Bluetooth stereo support. We are also affected with tactile controls that are quite nice and Motorola U9 scheduled to appear in Asia, Europe and Latin America during the last quarter of the year. As you might have already imagined, there is no talk of a plan for release in North America.
Motorola say that they have given the U9 software has changed, with a new user interface. Another improvement is that the U9 can be synchronized with Windows Media Player, which will make it easier to manage music.
The maximum talktime on Motorola U9 is an impressive 7 hours, with a maximum of 14 days on standby. There is also a flight mode available, which limits the U9 its media player, which should contribute to the battery.
