Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte Navigation Key Brilliant Phones

Posted on December 19, 2007 in Nokia

There are two variants of the Arte Nokia 8800, the standard one and Sapphire Arte, which has a gem navigation key and soft leather finish. We kid you not. Ignoring the rather bonkers Sapphire edition, the Nokia 8800 Arte is a much improved over its predecessor device. This is a 3G phone with a 2-inch 240 x 320 pixel (QVGA) OLED display, a 3.2 megapixel camera and 1 GB of internal memory. Add Bluetooth and a media player, and the Arte 8800 is roughly the button to a 3G phone contemporary.

Here’s the catch - the Nokia 8800 Arte spending a whopping € 1000 (£ 700) and if you want the edition while Sapphire is € 1150 (£ 815) before taxes and subsidies. For basic specifications, you can get a 3G phone much cheaper - so, what defines the Arte 8800 except for a run-of-the-mill camera?

It’s more than just the quality of construction, Nokia went to efforts to create a set of Arte 8800. The musical themes of this device have been created by Kruder & Dorfmeister (8800), it comes with something called living wallpapers and a nice touch is that if you go back when the phone rings, it goes off. There is a stand-office included in the sales package too, with a Bluetooth headset standard.

Although including 3G, QVGA and better camera are certainly improvements, there are still some shortcomings with the Nokia 8800 Arte. To begin with, this is not a smartphone - Arte launches the 8800 standard operating system found in Nokia S40 dumb phones. There is no WiFi, the device has no flash and no expandable memory either. The video capture is a humble 177 x 144 pixels, 8800 Arte and also lacks GPS .. SatNav and even though it is still a little luxury, the Arte 8800 phone is a luxury. Only one three-8800 Arte is not really suited for the American market,

The answer is, Arte 8800 follows in the tradition of other Nokias 8000 series by a great attention to detail and the quality of construction. The 8800 Art is built of steel and glass, at a time when most phones are made mainly of plastic. The surface-stick on the new 8800 is a feature that many owners of brilliant phones will need, and there are quite a sliding mechanism intended to give the Arte 8800 air quality.
