Samsung say they intend to launch the SGH-X820 in Russia in June 2006, followed by other regions later. At present, there is no indication of cost or market where the X820 will be available.

The Samsung X820 is the thinnest handset in the world so far just 6.6mm thick - even slimmer than the diminutive VK2000 - and it weighs just 66 grams, making it one of the lightest phones on the market.

Samsung SGH-X820 Despite its small size, the Samsung X820 does not compromise on features. Theres a 1.9 “220×176 pixels, a digital camera 2 megapixel, Bluetooth, 80Mb internal non-expandable memory, a media player and TV output. It also has a multimedia player capable of playing MP3, AAC and WMA audio tracks, and we understand that the SGH-X820 supports Bluetooth stereo.

It is a tri-band GSM 900/1800/1900 GSM with GPRS and EDGE. In physical terms, the Samsung X820 measures 113×50x6.9mm which is a pretty normal size for a mobile phone (with the exception of thin-ness). Exceptionally, the SGH-X820 comes with a landscape that the screen size wider than high, at 220×176 pixels.

To be honest, the Samsung X820 is not really a pretty phone. It lacks the wow factor of a device such as the Motorola RAZR V3i for example, but it seems to be a phone much more convenient to use with a keyboard.
