The T-Mobile Ameo is reported as a quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 device with UMTS 2100 or UMTS 850/1900 configuration. HSDPA, EDGE and GPRS is supported on mobile networks, and Ameo also supports 802.11b and 802.11g WLAN connections.

The Ameo can be seen as a step up from the likes of the T-Mobile MDA IV, but a step down from the compact IPOC platform. It features a large 5 “display, UMTS and HSDPA 3G/3.5G WiFi connections, GPS, a 8Gb internal hard drive, expandable memory miniSD plus a detachable QWERTY keyboard.
The keyboard is very cool - it attaches to the bottom of the Ameo using a magnetic tape, in order to detach completely when not in use. The other primary control is a stylus, so that users can access the Ameo of software as a traditional PDA. There is not a lot more progress in terms of control, which could make the Ameo a little fiddly when it comes to telephone operations.
GPS functions incorporated on Ameo can be used with T-Mobile’s Navigate software navigation satellite. Alternatively, you can load SatNav on the software of your choice.
At the rear is a 3 megapixel digital camera, a camera for the secondary video calls, a video output port, and speakers for multimedia playback. It is a Windows Mobile 5.0 device, so that the T-Mobile Ameo comes with a full range of multimedia and productivity applications. This combination of features means that Ameo can challenge subnotebook PC in terms of usefulness. You can even use it to drive a projector to present PowerPoint slides. The Ameo also supports BlackBerry push e-mail in addition to Microsoft DirectPush system.
The screen resolution is stated that 640×480 pixels, on the T-Mobile Ameo weighing a heavy 350 grams or so. The internal 8Gb disk should be enough for nearly all users, and the wide range of connectivity options should mean that users of Ameo will not have difficulties in moving around their data.
