T-Mobile Sidekick 3 Limited Edition Cellular Phone
Posted on December 17, 2007 in T-Mobile
The T-Mobile Sidekick 3 is the replacement of the device Sidekick II. So far, T-Mobile has not officially confirmed the Sidekick 3, but there is no doubt that there. It is a bit smoother and more intelligently looking device than the old Sidekick - the Sidekick 3 has more than one aspect of a portable game machine rather than a communicator, although the overall layout is quite similar.

T-Mobile has partnered with designer Diane von Furstenberg to create this limited edition T-Mobile Sidekick 3 cellular phone. The design of the phone is black with Diane von Furstenberg signature pink lips on the front. The user interface is also Diane von Furstenberg brand. Other than their cosmetic changes is nothing else between this limited edition Sidekick 3 and the regular. This limited edition T-Mobile Sidekick 3 is available in T-Mobile stores and online starting October 30.

At the back of the Sidekick 3 is a 1.3 megapixel camera with flash, which is a definite improvement over the older VGA camera in the Sidekick. If yes or not the T-Mobile Sidekick 3 can take memory cards is unknown (although a miniSD slot is rumor). Well, the Sidekick 3 appeared on the website of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and speculation
A major issue is the size of the screen. On the Sidekick 2, the display was a big 240×160 pixel unit and it appears that the Sidekick 3 has a screen in the same 1.5:1 ratio. This seems to exclude the rumor 320×240 pixels which would have a ratio of 1.33:1. It seems more compact than the Sidekick II - we believe that the measures Sidekick 3 around 128 x 57mm (5.0 x 2.2 inches) compared with 130 x 66mm (5.1 x 2 , 6 inches) on the former.
This particular version of the Sidekick 3 is a device GSM 850/1800/1900 MHz for North America with Bluetooth. As with the Sidekick II, it is very likely that there will be a 900/1800/1900 MHz version for Europe, at a later date - to prepare for a long wait, it took nearly 6 months after the US launch of the Sidekick II until a version was launched in Germany, and over a year for the United Kingdom. There are rumours that the Sidekick 3 will support EDGE, but not 3G.
